In 1732 Don Joao V, supported by the Town Hall Senate of Lisbon, decided to supply the town with a new source of water: the Acqueducto das Aguas Livres. This work had become necessary because the town was often the victim of devastating epidemics due to bad hygenic conditions. A masterpiece from an architectural point of view, the Acqueducto das Aguas Livres covers a track of twenty kilometers, from the source to the final cistem (the famous Mae des Aguas, i.e. the Mother of Water), being partly underground and partly above the ground running across steep hills. This wash-basin, Aguas Livres, with its multilinear form, with a soft ad curvy perimeter, becomes so a reminescence of the entire Iberian art. Aguas Livres, a functional and harmonious wash-basin, of the right size, with its appeal of a Spanish nobleman, will give character to your bathroom.
