PLATEAU
Nowadays, when everything is integrated in a world-wide dimension, languages included, the French term "plateau" is by now commonly used to indicate a plain.
Don't let is mislead you, however! A plain is never exactly fiat, hardly ever. If it were, it would accumulate water, which would eventually become stagnant and tum into marshland an unhealthy enviroment. Healthy is, on the other end, water which flows, drains away.
Nothing unusual under the skies. More or less as it has always been. Simple grit planes, appropriately smoothed. There you don't slip. Slightly inclined so that water can drain off. One can choose their length, width and height from floor level. Preferences are different, just like habits. That's Plateau.
